Class levels

  • Level 0 - Absolute beginner ballet
Sunday morning is a slow and technique focused class perfect for absolute beginners or those wanting to fine tune their fundamentals. This class has a strong focus on developing alignment, turnout strength and articulation through the feet.

  • Level 1 - Beginner/intermediate ballet
The Friday evening class is for progressing beginners/intermediate dancers. The next level up, we do longer combinations and cover more centre exercises including allegro (jumps) and pirouettes (turns).

  • Pointe/pre-pointe
This class is for adults beginning pointe technique and is mostly at the barre as we work on strength and foot articulation. This class can also be taken by dancers working towards pointe. Progressive and careful training is vital for safe pointework, so any students wishing to wear pointe shoes will first need to be assessed and given permission by the teacher as well as a dance physiotherapist.

balletRADICAL is committed to building a queer-inclusive community. We explicitly welcome trans, non-binary and gender diverse people, as well as asexual, aromantic, and other a-spec people as members of this community.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we gather and pay our respects to Indigenous Elders past and present. Dance and other performing arts are affected by colonisation. We recognise that First Nations people have many rich dance traditions that have a been a part of their cultures for thousands of years, but these are often overlooked by a colonial focus on western art forms.
